Job Opportunity – Lighting Technician

We have a vacancy for a Lighting Technician to join our in-house team.

The role will be based at our office here in Edinburgh. The candidate will work with our hire and events team to fulfill our customer’s requirements. Duties will include liaising with customers to determine their requirements, design of lighting systems for events, the preparation and despatch of equipment and goods, checking in of returned equipment, maintenance of equipment, delivery of goods to site and the setup and operation of lighting equipment for events.

The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of current lighting equipment and technologies and experience in the set-up, operation and troubleshooting of professional entertainment lighting equipment in a variety of live applications such as live music, theatre and conferences.

Customer service and satisfaction are key to our business model. Personally, candidates must have a bright, cheerful, personality and enjoy working face-to-face with customers. Communication skills should be strong, both written and orally. Good attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure and a ‘go the extra mile’ attitude are also essential to the role.

As we are a rental company, a good deal of your work will be based in our warehouse rather than out on site and this should be taken into account when applying. The nature of this role also requires a certain degree of flexibility with regard to working hours and the willingness to work evenings, late nights and weekends is essential.

Experience in other technical disciplines such as sound, video, rigging or electrics will be advantageous to applicants.

A full UK driving license is an essential requirement for this role.
